Ep 53: Avengers 2 - Age of Ultron

We bring some of your favorite Marvel superheroes back again and by the end of the movie, we even add two.  The action packed beginning caught everyone's attention.  We also got to learn more about Black Widow and Hawkeye. Ultron was one of the best villains some of our hosts have seen, but others thought he might have had too much humor for his role.  Was this movie better than the first?  See what our hosts had to say!

Ep 52: Punisher (1989)

This 1989 movie was a stepping stone to the comic book movies we know and love today.  But was this a good movie based for it’s time, and did it make for a good movie now?

Ep 51: Underworld

When hot, blue eyed vampires face off against the ferocious nearly wiped out Lycans, that’s a party. We reviewed the first movie released in the Underworld franchise, will it hold up to our Nerd scrutiny? Well, with lead actress Kate Beckinsale playing Selene, how could we not love it. This movie has a great, dark feel and pretty good special effects for its time. While this movie is rated R, we feel in today's time it could be rated PG13. Having a great cast and an interesting story around a war lasting centuries between werewolves and vampires, is a great recipe for success. Definitely recommend this movie and it even has a great bonus, these vampires don't sparkle in the sunlight.

Ep 50: Fantastic 4 ( 2005 )

The big question we all have is, is this move better than the Fantastic 4 unreleased movie?  With a great cast, all of the actors seemed to fit the comic characters.  However this movie still seems to missing something.  We have 4 people that go into space to research a radioactive cloud.  When things go ary, they end up with different super powers.  They weren’t the only ones, Van Doom has powers of his own.  Will they come together to save the day, or will their new changes tear them apart.  If you suddenly had superpowers, would you be excited to have them, or do everything you could to get rid of them and have a normal life.  Sometimes things work out in unexpected ways.

Nate gave us the Fantastic Four Challenge, and we took him up on it. How long where people able to watch this movie? This movie was supposed to come out in 1994, but it was never commercially released to the public. We searched the internet, but did not have to look hard. Finding this movie on YouTube was a surprise at first, until we watched it. How many pocket protectors did the Nerds give this movie? Have a listen, and prepare to laugh, cry and hear our review and rating.

Ep 48: The Interview

The highly controversial movie, The Interview, is on Netflix and we are going to do a commentary for you. The start time is 35 seconds for those of you who watch it with us. Dave Skylark is the star of Skylark Tonight, a celebrity talk show, gets the interview of a lifetime when his biggest fan North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un agrees to meet him. However, they are recruited by the CIA to turn their trip into quite the opposite, an assassination mission. See what we thought of this movie, our views might be as controversial as the release of this movie.

Ep 47: Agency of Vengeance - Dark Rising

A few years after Jason Parks rescued Princess Summer Vale from her life hunting Kellipoths in the Demon dimension, a rise in supernatural violent attacks resurface in our dimension. These two heroes must come together and save the world. The Rising Dark Agency, a super secret Government agency dealing with the supernatural headed by Colonel Haggerd, believe that the rising evil is the work of Mardock, an nasty Demon-God with the power to destroy well everything. The entire Agency is on high alert can they stop this treat and save the world as we know it. Find out how much we liked or disliked this movie. What we think might surprise you.

Ep 46: World War Z

Zombies Zombies and well lots of crazy, super fast Zombies. World War Z, the movie about a zombie outbreak that is based of a best selling novel called…. you guessed it, World War Z. Many fans of the books where disappointed with the movie, why? We take a look and see if this movie is worth a look see. The best part was, everyone had their own thoughts about whether they liked it or not. Who do you think liked it and who didn’t, you might be surprised. Will Chris finally stop complaining about all of the Zombie movies and tv shows?

Ep 45: Hunger Games Catching Fire

May the odds be ever in your favor! Here we are again for the second installment of the Hunger Games, Catching Fire. What did we think of the this movie compared to the first? Is the series getting darker. Like the first, many topics of controversy arises, who is good vs who is bad and where do you draw the line when it comes to right and wrong. We talk about our favorite actor and if there was a scene that really stuck out to us.

Ep 44: Total Recall (2012)

We already reviewed the 1990 version of Total Recall, now it is time for the 2012 version. We went through some of the differences as well as the tributes to the original movie, you know the ones. This movie had great technology and special effects, but viewers said it seemed to be missing humor and character emotion, would you agree? Did this movie leave you thinking he was in Recall the whole time?

Ep 42: Dredd

In a post apocalyptic world where the human race has been confined to mega cities, where the police have the authority to act as judge, jury and executioner, a street judge charged with testing rookie the hard way to take down a gang that deals the reality-altering drug, SLO-MO. Did this movie stay close with its comic origins? With a great cast Karl Urban, Lena Headey, Olivia Thirlby how could Dredd be anything but good?

Ep 41: Ghostbusters

In 1984, the world was in great peril: ghosts, ghouls, and other creatures that go bump in the night are about to wreak havoc in NYC. Thankfully, the Ghostbusters have assembled to take care of the paranormal problem! Find out how our team of Nerds rated this movie and find out all the shocking things that were in 80’s PG rated films that you would never see today!!

Ep 40: Howard the Duck

What the Duck! This is first attempt at making a Marvel comic book into a live action film? Howard is a walking talking duck; that smokes, drinks and then saves the world from the Dark Overlord. We tear it a new one, but just how bad could it have been? Listen through all the duck puns, as we laugh, we cry, and quite possibly resorted to alcoholism just to make it through this show!

Ep 39: The One

The One, with Jet Li, came out in 2001 against other movies like the first Harry Potter, the first Lord of the Rings and Black Hawk Down. Did that have something to do with the box office earnings or was it the movie itself. We had Martial Art action, crazy sci fi gadgets, and plot holes as big as black holes. Even though we tore this movie a new one, we rated The One pretty high.
