Ep 97: Reminders and Predictions for WWDC 2016

Don’t forget another important event, learn how to use reminders with us. Are you new to Apple? Do you know someone that is ready to join the Apple elite? We share how you can merge over important things from your old, non Apple phone (pics, contacts, messages etc.) and explain how Apple has made this a super easy process. Switching may seem hard, but it's not as bad as you may think. My team and I also took some time to recommend some getting started, must have apps.  WWDC is just around the bend and we have some predictions as well as some requests for changes we hope to see Apple make. Please don't be afraid to contact us for Apple help or advice, all you have to do is use the links below and we can help you!

Ep 96: iMac and iPad Help, and Your Questions Answered

Helping you with your iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, or other Apple product is what we love to do. We even help with software: having the skills and knowledge is powerful. Once you learn how to do a few things on your devices, you can do almost anything. We spent a lot of time talking about Snapchat, mostly because Sam has finally signed up. Also, our host Larissa has finally got an iMac! But not just any iMac - a 4k version!! What kind of apps or programs would you recommend to Larissa? We recommended iMovie, GarageBand, and so much more. This week, we had some fun App suggestions. Below are some links to the apps we mentioned.

Remote control your iMac or other Mac product from an iPhone, iPad, or another Mac: https://jumpdesktop.com

Annotate on pictures and so much more! Check out the app that Chris just got, and bought all of the in-app purchases: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/annotable-ultimate-image-annotation/id1099850421?mt=8

Sam loves space, and she has a great app that shows off the beauty it holds. Check it out: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/astronomy-picture-of-the-day/id304006512?mt=8
Larissa loves to scare the crap out of us! Check out her app suggestion, but only if you like be scared: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/slender-rising-2/id777317826?mt=8

Ep 95: Can Sam Stump Siri?

Having a great time recording podcasts that help people use their Apple products is what we do! We also really enjoy making podcasts! In this episode, we put Siri to a test and tried to stump her.

Have you ever lost your keys, glasses, or wallet? Are you leaving your items in random places, and forget where they are? You might want to get a Tile Bluetooth tracker at www.thetileapp.com. We briefly talked about home automation, and one of the coolest pieces of tech gear was brought up - the Ring Video Doorbell from https://ring.com/. After looking at their website, I really want to get one! One thing is for sure - the hosts agree home automation is the future, and we are looking forward to it.

Ep 94: Tstand Review

Do you watch your iPad in bed or while sitting in a chair? It’s a great device to watch your favorite shows check your email and get caught up on news. But, it can be a pain sometimes trying to hold it up for long periods of time. That’s where the TStand comes in handy. It’s a device that holds your iPad or smartphone (with an additional accessories) so you can be comfortable as well as hands free. You can also use the TStand on a desk or table so you no longer have to hunch over while you looking at your iPad. The stand keeps the iPad or iPhone closer to eye level without you having to hold it up or worry about your device falling. Well that’s not all we discussed during this episode. We talked about running and some different apps Trisha uses to gauge her running progress. We also answered a question from Monica about which iPhone she should choose, 6s or 6s Plus.

Ep 93: Alpacas & Cuddles

We had a crazy time on this show - we went in with no topic or plans. Did it turn out well? Yes! We had a super fun and amazing time. We read some feedback, we talked about the Apple Pencil, and dispelled rumors about Apple’s supposed impending demise. Also, there is a bug that shows the wrong storage amount in iOS 9. Chris doesn’t disappoint in guiding you through fixing this annoying issue. Jon and Larissa went head-to-head in a battle royale Canada vs. Australia app challenge: which one of our hosts had the weirdest app this week?

Ep 90: Back Those Photos Up

Taking a picture is only part of the equation - editing and storage are also very important parts. We gave many different examples and suggestions on how and where to store these precious memories. Having one copy on your iOS device is not enough. Imagine: what if something happened to that device? Your pictures and memories would be gone! We offer many options in this episode on how to save and keep those memories backed up. Not sure how to set up iPhoto? No problem, we will teach you! With services and apps like Flickr, Amazon Photo, Facebook, and our favorite - Google Photos - there is no excuse not to have backups anymore. Have you ever tried Uber? Well, our very own hosts Trish and Sam have, and they share their experiences with us. Also, we have some really cool picks of the week, like Kingdom Hearts, Groupon, and Kingdom Hearts.

Here are some Links for Apps we recommend for backing up and storing pictures.

Ep 89: Editing Options Galore

Who is this show for? Chris talks about the audience we are targeting and why.  We have been talking a lot about pictures and how to best take them. For this episode we wanted to go over more options to edit or mark up your photos. Using 3rd party apps to edit and enhance your photos or social media posts is a breeze. We just briefly touched on photo storage and will talk more about it in the next episode.  Don't forget to rate and review us on iTunes for a chance to win.

Ep 88: Happy 40th Apple, Also Edit your Pics with Photos App

Apple celebrated their 40th birthday, with music, beer and a lot of fun.  We have gotten some great feedback and answer your questions.  Taking pictures is one of the best things an iPhone can do, so we share our favorite apps for taking pictures.  How do you edit a picture quickly?  You can use the tools Apple have provided in their photos app.  We go over the different tools and options you can use to fix lighting, exposure, shadowing and more.
